The Pillow is done:)

I finished the Bushel and a Peck pillow today. It turned out cute but you know the place mat is just a bit too small for the stencil. It is ok though cause I have lots of other stencils and material and ideas!

But this thing is done..and it is now Bryar's Pillow.

Repurposed place mats into pillows....

So today was another garage sale day! I just love them you know:) I found these awesome place mats .25¢ each and got home just in time for my new stencil to come in the mail. Perfect timing!

These are on their way to being pillows. I can't wait to get them finished but for right now I want to show you the fronts of the pillows. Well first I have to say I have the cutest grand kids. Two boys, Landon and Dierks they are two years old,and we are getting another boy in just a couple days..can't wait for that! We have one grand daughter, Bryar who is now 5 years old. But from the time she was born I would sing to her (probably cruel and unusual punishment..LOL) But I would sing "I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck" So there....that should explain this!

I will post a picture when the pillows are done!

Solar Lights on a Shoestring!

I have seen the solar lids that go on the mason jars and I think it is a wonderful idea. The only problem is that they are so expensive! It struck me one day that if I bought the Mini-Solar lights that you can get for $1.50 or sometimes even $1.00 that I could modify them to use in different sized jars.

My daughter was getting married here at the farm, and we thought that tons of solar lights hanging all over the place, hanging in the trees, sitting on the ground, and on the tables would be so romantic. So for a fraction of the cost of the Solar Lid lights, I made these, using different sized jars, some new and some left over, adding iridescent paper shreds. We used rusty wire for a primitive look, around the tops and made wire hangers. They turned out to be beautiful!

Here are some pictures of the lights, I gathered some of them and set them on a table, please forgive some of the photos, it is hard to photograph lights!
